Working with spelling words for week 29: Week 29 focuses on the " ing "ending. Students need to recognize a root word with an "ing" ending. The word "fishing" may seem unfamiliar, but when students learn to recognize the " ing " ending, they can see a familiar word "fish" that simply has changed to "fishing" using "ing".

Reading Counts Points

Our class participates in the Reading Counts Program. Children earn points for reading books and answering comprehension questions. Recently, Megan Murray, Caitlin Quintinilla, and Myranda Bell earned lunch with the principal. Keep reading. The Reading Counts field trip is scheduled for May 18th. Leia Vadeen has earned the 100 points needed to attend. Several students in our class are getting very close.
